Kevin Spain... where do I begin. If it's an option, you take his money. This person is one of the most epic, helpful Series A VC's out there. His ego seems to somehow literally not exist. His conviction is admirable, even amidst turbulent times in a company's life. I have not take funding from Kevin but I've worked at one of his portfolio companies and, if you couldn't tell, he left a lasting, positive impression after working so closely around him for 4 years. He truly embedded himself into the company and worked hard WITH the team, many of whom had very little professional experience outside of college degrees. Even more, he even donating his time and energy to a fledgling side project of mine at the time (with pretty much exactly zero upside to him). I cannot recommend Kevin Spain enough—he gets 10/10 stars from me and is the model example of a balanced, Series A VC who has a proven track record of sound reasoning and success. If you are offered money from him, take it.
