Sven was the very first money into our startup, moving with a conviction that is incredibly rare to see in venture today. Since that moment, 4 years ago, he’s played a huge part in moving the company forward through both the good and the bad times. I will personally never forget his unwavering support during a particularly challenging fundraise when other VC’s might have moved on. Sven is unique in venture for possessing a deep technical understanding of problems, but even more so for his ability to deliver the right feedback at the right time. This is not easy and is a minefield I’ve seen founder friends have to navigate with other board members. To build the biggest company, sometimes a founder needs a gentle, quiet prod in the right direction, but other times they need to hear the direct, cold truth. Sven is masterful at knowing when and how to deliver this feedback, and I’ve found it to be an invaluable addition to our board and for my own progression. I couldn’t recommend Sven and the Khosla Ventures team any higher, especially for deeply technical startups.
