How Well Do You Know This Investor?

Had heard from two previous ERA founders that ERA is good for businesses that needed to on business development for the next few months but bad for businesses that needed to focus on product, since apparently during the program you are bombarded with back-to-back meetings. Decided to apply and got an interview. Interview was a group interview with Jonathan leading. Immediately once we sat down, he told us that he doesn't think this idea would work, he's seen dozens of failed attempts at this and we needed to pivot. We were pretty thrown off and spent the rest of the meeting trying to convince them otherwise. I guess it was bad cop mode since there were audible sighs and wasn't one smile during the entire interview. Afterwards, we walked out of the office pretty dazed and decided that regardless of their decision, we wouldn't want to join ERA. They should have either rejected us upfront and saved both parties time or decided to at least hear out our startup in the meeting.
