Met with Steven and his team for our B round. We were excited after the first meeting, they asked a lot of very detailed questions, and they generally seemed to be optimistic about our category. My Co-founder and I thought they could be a good fit. We then found out through Techcrunch, two weeks later that they led a round in our competitor....Now I fully expect growth firms to look at every company in a sector, but given the timeline here they had clearly already signed a deal with a competitor when they scheduled our meeting. Further, to keep us on a call for over an hour and ask extremely detailed strategy and operating questions just IS NOT COOL. We later found out they shared our data room with our competitor......
