I met Todd Kimmel roughly 12 years ago when we were both at prior companies. While he ultimately passed on our round, he was relatively quick to do so, and provided helpful feedback. Even after declining to invest, he was also always willing to speak with me over the following years when I sought advice about business models, fundraising, etc. He is the first person I would go to (and have gone to) when launching a company -- for a number of reasons. (For added context, he's an investor and some of the earliest money in my current company): 1. He has a healthy respect for what can and can't be known in early stage businesses, and can live comfortably in that gray space, while helping to tick off the unknowns. 2. He always has keen insights to offer when trying to navigate to the most effective strategy-- whether go-to-market, consumer engagement, team building and even product development. 3. He has always been incredibly supportive -- when things are good AND when things get hard. He's the proverbial "first call" I make when I need a hand or a sounding board.
We believe that there are always two sides to every story and accountability goes both ways, so we want to allow for investors to respond to their own reviews. Please navigate to the link below to leave a reply.
