Todd is the ultimate time waster. At my last company, Todd was very hot to get engaged and discuss, but he was always "raising more capital" or "digging in more" or "couldn't invest right now due to fund issue" but I learned that he was investing in other companies and he was just stringing me along. It's OK to take 3-5 meetings for diligence. It is OK to dig in. But tell me when you don't want to fund my company. Or tell me when you simply want help on the industry or space. Most likely, I will help because that makes the world go round. But, if you lead founders on and waste their time, you are a jerk. I met with Todd one about 5 occasions across 3 cities and 4 months. I drove an hour of my way to chat with him. In the end he just ghosted me on the whole deal. Absurd.
